A beloved teacher at RMA Amarillo, Mr. Eric Sanders, passed away on February 22nd. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and the staff and students at RMA-Amarillo.  A memorial was put together at that campus with contributions from all students and staff.

RMA Amarillo Eric Sanders Memorial

Below are some touching words delivered at yesterday’s memorial service by Cecilia Resendiz, the RMA-Amarillo’s Student and Community Coordinator:

Eric Sanders was born on November 21, 1970. Mr. Sanders lived and taught in Snyder, TX before moving the Canyon/Amarillo area. He began working at Richard Milburn Academy on February 29, 2016. The impact he left on RMA and on its students has been astronomical. Mr. Sanders will not be only be remembered as a great teacher, not only be remembered as a great co-worker but as a great father. Because not only has he been an amazing dad to his 19-year-old son, Shaun, but to many of our students he was a father figure. He cared for our students and their well-being not only inside of school but in the outside world and in their lives and in their homes. He loved his students and loved being able to teach them new things. His only goal as a teacher was to ensure that his students walked out of his classroom a little better than they were when they walked in….. He will be missed dearly. May God give him eternal rest. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Our condolences to Mr. Sanders’ loved ones and to our entire RMA Amarillo family.
