“Elijah Lorenzo “Eli” Garza, 16, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on May 14, 2021.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 20, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Eli was born on October 26, 2004 in Amarillo, Texas, to Kristy Romero and Orlando Garza.

Eli had a huge smile for everyone. He was always smiling, laughing, and playing goofy pranks on everyone. He loved his family, every member of his huge family. Eli’s hugs were clumsy and heavy, but they left your heart feeling loved. He was a gamer, and he was very good at it. Eli was so unique, that is why he felt out of place. But Eli loved being unique and knew that was one of his best qualities.

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Esther Hill Garza; his great-grandpa, Johnny Romero; his great-grandma, Mary Padilla; and cousins, Zachary Garza and Layla Padilla.

Eli is survived by his mother, Kristy Romero (Noe Jr. Dominguez) of Amarillo, Texas; his father, Orlando Garza of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Izyiah Garza (Isabel Castro) of Amarillo, Texas; grandmother, Germaine Padilla of Amarillo, Texas; grandfather, Larry Romero (Heather Romero) of Amarillo, Texas; grandfather, Cruz Garza of Amarillo, Texas; a great-grandfather, Pete Padilla of Hereford, Texas; a great-grandmother, Mary Romero of Amarillo, Texas; and many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.”
