RMA Texas Public Schools is a tuition-free public charter school system serving students across the great state of Texas. RMA Texas Public Schools does not have any admission exams or interviews to admit students, nor does RMA register students like traditional public schools.

Completing this online application does not fully enroll a student. Some information will need to be verified on-campus before a student starts at RMA. Please see the steps below for more information.

Completing your Enrollment:

  1. Submit your application form online or in person at any one of our campuses.
  2. Visit and tour one of our campuses to finish your application at your convenience. We are open weekdays from 8:00-5:00 pm. Bringing the items from the checklist below helps expedite the process, but you can still submit an application regardless.
  3. Application Items to Bring:
    • Proof of Residence (copy of lease agreement or current utility bill)
    • Birth Certificate (of student)
    • Student’s Social Security Card
    • Immunization Records (Copy from the previous school will suffice.)
    • Previous Academic Records From Most Recent Campus
  4. Attend the lottery: the RMA lottery will be held at the end of May, each school year, to determine the order in which students are offered admission. Families are invited to attend this exciting event! Don’t let your student’s seat get taken, apply today!


  • How do I enroll at RMA?

    First, submit your application online or in person, at any of our schools. If more applications are received for any grade than there are spots available, we will hold a lottery to determine the order in which students are offered admission. The lottery will be held at the end of May each year. The deadline to enter the lottery will be announced in advance each year. Any applications received after this date are entered into a wait list in the order received. Families are then notified if and when spots become available. The lottery is a fair, random process, and we offer lottery priority to the siblings of current RMA students and to the children of our full time employees.

  • Why should I enter the lottery and what is the deadline for entering?

    Applying before our lottery deadline will give your child the highest chance of being offered a spot at RMA. If you miss the deadline, you may  still submit a wait list application. However, sibling or employee priority is ONLY offered for applications received at RMA before our lottery deadline. It’s best to apply as early as possible – the application is short, simple, and free.

  • Is there a cost?

    No! RMA is a tuition-free public charter high school and is absolutely free for families and students.

  • Is RMA a regular public school accredited by the state?

    Yes! RMA is a Texas Education Agency (T.E.A.) accredited public charter high school for students in 9th-12th grades.

  • How long is the school day?

    Only 4 hours long! RMA has been approved to run an accelerated program with two half-day sessions. The first is from 8:00-12:00pm and the second is from 12:45-4:45pm.

  • Can I still graduate on time?

    Absolutely! RMA has a proven credit-acceleration program where students are eligible to earn credits at the same pace or even faster than they would in a traditional school. We create an individualized graduation plan just for you to ensure you meet your goals on your timeline.

  • How many times can I apply?

    Please submit only one application per year either online or in person, at any of our schools. Submitting more than one will not increase your child’s chances of enrolling at RMA. If you are on our wait list for the current school year, you need to reapply for the lottery – a new application is required each year.

  • When is the lottery?

    The lottery will be held at the end of May. At the end of May, you will receive a letter with lottery results and next steps. If your child’s name is not selected in the lottery, they will be placed on the school’s wait list. If and when a spot becomes available, we will notify your family.

  • Which immunizations do you require?

    For the most recent list of immunization requirements, please visit the Texas Department of State Health Services website at http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/immunize/school/#schools.

  • How can I visit an RMA campus or learn more about upcoming events?

    We will hold several information sessions this year where families can come to our campuses, meet principals and staff members, and ask any questions you might have about RMA.
