• Child Find at RMA Public Schools

At RMA Public Schools, we are ready, willing, and able to identify and support all children with disabilities within our community who may need special education and related services.

    What is Child Find?
Child Find is a federal requirement under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It requires public school districts and charter schools to identify, locate, and evaluate children who may have disabilities and who may need special education services. (34 CFR §300.111—Child Find)

    Important to Know:
Being identified through Child Find does not automatically mean a child will receive services. A Full and Individual Initial Evaluation (FIIE) must be completed first to determine eligibility.

    Next Steps for Families:
If you believe your child may have a disability or could benefit from specially designed instruction, please complete the Request for Evaluation Form in full. This is the first step in making sure your child gets the support they need.
